Pride of the Hill were formed in the year 1985 and from then the band have grown strength to strength throughout the years to the current day.  In 2010 saw our band reach our 25th Anniversary.  Throughout the years the band have had numerous uniforms ranging from sky blue and red in the early days to black, red and gold. Our colours have mainly stayed the same through the years but every now and again we do welcome a total change. In 2002 were went in a new style altogether with the uniform being dark navy with red and silver trimming and this was the 1st uniform we have had with peaked hats. Since then the uniforms we have got have included jackets or shirts, peaked hats and trousers.   Our band is in loving memory of David Lee and Kris Muckle who were members of our band. We now wear their names with pride on our uniform and bannerette.  David Lee was one of the founder members of the band and we felt it appropriate to have our band in loving memory of David.  Kris Muckle was also a long serving member of our band who sadly died in 2007.  The band is honoured to carry their names with us on every parade we do. This dedication also stretches out for past members who have also died and they are also never forgotten.

Previously when Pride of the Hill was started the band attended Orange parades around the country but the band has now progressed through the years and became more well known and we currently attend Orange parades all over Northern Ireland and Scotland including competition parades too.

Throughout the many years we have been formed Pride of the Hill have had quite a few badges.  Our badges have all mainly been pretty similar incorporating a Red Hand of Ulster, Union Jack, Ulster flag, Scottish flag and Orange Standard flag in them.  Our current badge was designed in a memorial design.  This badge like all our badges has been worn with pride but this more than others as it is in memory of both David Lee & Kris Muckle.

When the band was formed the band walked on average with 4 drummers and 8 flutes to present the band is walking with 15 drummers and 30 flutes on our books and hopefully this can continue to increase. This is a perfect example at how we have progressed. Pride of the Hill always welcome new members to the band, just attend our band practice which is once a week. All the current members of our "family" would like to thank everyone whom were past members for sticking by our band thick and thin to keep our band going.  Through the years its not all been plain sailing but as it stand the current crop of members are reaping the benefits of the core members the band has always had.  Its more than a badge, its a family crest!

Finally I would like to make it clear that Pride of the Hill are not connected to any organisation.
